Birth History of Kpando Agudzi (Ghana)

Originally from a community far away called Notsi (modern Togo), the story of how Kpando Agudzi was founded takes the form of a meandering journey, a group of wanderers searching for a home. Moving swiftly from Notsi, this group of nomads passed through Ziavi, then Tongbu, Votsi and Dome. At each place, some members of the group settled down; others continued on their journey, seeking a home. After Dome, the group turned north in search of drinking water; weary after many months on the road, they couldn’t muster the strength to continue their journey immediately.

Thus a small band of hunters, among the strongest and fittest of the clan, volunteered to explore and return once they had found water. They set off and soon reached a deep forest. These were experienced hunters and they crossed without hesitation over the threshold of the jungle. After a full day of walking they grew tired, and having seemingly made little progress through the jungle, they decided to spend the night in the forest and continue their search anew at sunrise.

They were just beginning to make their camp as dusk approached, when, suddenly, one member of the group gave a gasp of surprise – through the branches of the trees he had watched the sun set, and at a certain point he caught the sight of a reflection, the light of the sun bouncing off water. He sprinted towards the reflection, finally reaching a river which he named Agudzitsi or “sun on to water.”

Leaving 2 members of the group to guard the spot, the rest of the hunters returned to their clan to inform them of their good fortune and to lead them back to their new home, today called Kpando Agudzi.

The King of Kpando Agudzi Togbui Bediako IV (1876 - 1978)

The King of the district today Togbui Bediako VII is his grandson.

Greek Summer Salad

GREEK SUMMER SALAD

Now I made a summer salad Greek
A better salad you can only seek

Its colours are red, green and yellow
And its taste is really mellow

Vinegar and extra virgin olive oil
With fresh vegetables from good soil

Added with garlic and new onion
Is the best result in my opinion

Kalamata olives and Feta cheese
Still add to the Greek salad, please

Greek salad to eat is easy and light
As the Finnish summer night.

The same text with a different rhythm:

Now I made a summer salad Greek
Its colours are red, green and yellow
A better salad you can only seek
And its taste is really mellow

Vinegar and extra virgin olive oil
Added with garlic and new onion
With fresh vegetables from good soil
Is the best result in my opinion

Kalamata olives and Feta cheese
Greek salad to eat is easy and light
Still more the Greek salad, please
In the Finnish summer night.

Sign language of the hand

Sign language of the hand
We had a meeting with the students of the year 1967 of Oulu Lyceum on June 2-3, 2017. At the meeting, we took pictures of each other. I was completely surprised by the fact that my namesake Schildt had recorded my hand on the conversations. I had not noticed its gestures before that!

Esteri's 11th Anniversary

Our golden retriever Esteri had her 11th anniversary in March, 26th, 2017. She had a cake with franks and whipped cream. Here you see, how quickly the cake disappeared.

I've got a new woman

It was a destiny
Oh Lord, it was a destiny
I found a woman like me
Just like me
In the date on the Internet.

She was there
Just waiting for me
Suddenly we were there
Accidentally we were
Together hand by hand.

Nobody can understand
The secret feelings we had
The close nearness
In fearlessness
In the darkness

I've got a new woman
Just like me
Really just like me
There is no difference
Just the same happiness.

At the computer

I started studying computer science at the University of Oulu in 1970. The first post-graduation job was as a programmer in computer science establishment. Since that time, I used the computer to work right up until 2012 when I retired. Then I used to say that probably I am one of  the most long-standing computer users in the workplace.

I still use a computer almost daily basis, inter alia, to write the blog stories. This picture was taken from a webcam at the computer.
